This Ordinance amends

(a) the District Boards Ordinance (Cap. 366),

the Urban Council Ordinance (Cap. 101),

the Electoral Provisions Ordinance (Cap. 367),

the Electoral Provisions (Registration of Electors) Regulations (Cap. 367 sub. leg.),

the Electoral Provisions (Procedure) Regulations (Cap. 367 sub. leg.),

the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Ordinance (Cap. 288), and

the Urban Council and District Boards Election Expenses Order (Cap. 288 sub. leg.),

in order to improve administration and procedure associated with the holding of elections to District Boards and the Urban Council. The need for these amendments was demonstrated by the first round of elections to the District Boards. The next round of elections is due to take place in March 1985.

2. Before the Deputy to the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
