The proposals discussed in Chapters 5, 6 and 7

of this Green Paper may be summarised as follows -

The Legislative Council (Chapter 5)

(a)

the appointed Unofficial members

of

the Legislative Council

should be replaced progressively by members elected indirectly

-

(i) by an electoral college

composed of all members of

the Urban Council, the new

Regional Council and the

District Boards, and

(ii) by specified functional

constituencies,

and there should be સ gradual

reduction in the number of Official

members of the Legislative Council.
