Government in Hong Kong

John Holmes wrote to you on 1 September 1983 enclosing a note on the various Councils and Boards involved in the Government of Hong Kong. Your letter of 7 September asked for this to be updated reasonably regularly.

I accordingly enclose an updated version. This takes account of a statement made by the Chief Secretary, Sir Philip Haddon-Cave, in Hong Kong's Legislative Council on 15 February, which proposed an extension of the structure of local administration and a strengthening of its elected element.
