Dear Mr. Gething,

Please refer to a letter dated 27th October 1982 addressed to Ambassador Morgan concerning those Vietnamese refugees rescued by MV "Hupeh" in July 1980.

To update the information, please be advised that Nguyen Sy Than, dob 10.12.34 and his son Nguyen Sy Dung dob 25.03.67 (PA 1023) have now departed to USA. The remaining 11 persons have no other resettlement opportunities.

Since some time has passed and they have now been waiting for over 2 years, we were wondering whether your Government had made a decision as to their resettle- ment.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Mr. David Gething
