Referring to your visit at my office in November concerning the refugee situation in Hong Kong, and to what my Under-Secretary of State, Mr. Widgren, already has told you, I would like to confirm the measures taken by the Swedish authorities in regard to the problems we discussed.

For the current fiscal year, Sweden is prepared to receive some 250 Indo-Chinese refugees, mainly from Hong Kong, in addition to what has been already allotted for Indo-Chinese refugees within this year's refugee quotas.
