PQ: HONG KONG: VIETNAMESE REFUGEES
BACKGROUND NOTE
1. Dr Marshall asks this question regularly. The last time was on 22 December 1982, when there were 12,779 Vietnamese
refugees in Hong Kong. The fall in numbers since then is
because so far this year over 200 refugees have arrived in
Hong Kong from Vietnam and some 600 have been resettled
elsewhere.
