Dear Sir,
1st October, 1983.
During the last three weeks I brought to the attention of you and your advisers various documents which have suggested a major discrepancy between the figures presented to Eligible Creditors of Carrian Holdings Ltd. and Carrian Investments Ltd. and the books of Bumiputra Malaysia Finance Ltd. As you know we have continued and are continuing our investigations of all the records concerned.
In the course of these investigations we are examining letters which appeared to be confirmation from directors or officers of your Companies to the auditors of BMFL, confirming major debts outstanding either at 31st November, 1982 or 31st December, 1982.
These confirmatory letters seem to be completely opposed to the information given to me last Wednesday by your legal representatives. I must ask you and your fellow directors for the full explanation of the position as we now see it. I have to ask that I receive this explanation by twelve noon Monday, 3rd October, 1983.
I am enclosing copies of a sample of these confirmatory letters which I have already given to your financial advisers.
