The concrete ways of implementing the above proposals would be handed over to the various working groups for study.

Secretary-General ZHEN Xipei briefed the Hong Kong delegation on recent construction development in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and its future outlook. The Hong Kong Delegation visited Shekou Industrial Region, the port under construction at Chiwan, the check-point at Nantou along the SEZ/non-SEZ boundary, Xili Lake Holiday Resort, Honey Lake Holiday Resort, and took a bird's eye view of Shangbu Industrial Region, thus having a further understanding of the conditions at Shenzhen SEZ. The Hong Kong delegation indicated that Hong Kong is adopting a very positive attitude towards the development of the SEZ and fully supports its continued development.

Both sides agreed that a half-yearly review session would be constructive, and help to promote future cooperation and speed up progress. Political Advisor McLaren invited the Shenzhen delegation headed by Secretary-General ZHEN Xipei to come to Hong Kong to have a review session six months later. Mr. ZHEN Xipei showed his appreciation.
