imports of raw materials and semi-manufactures and of
consumer goods increased in the third quarter compared
with the same period last year. Over this period, imports
of foodstuffs showed no change in real terms.

the third quarter. First, retained imports of raw
materials and semi-manufactures grew by about 30% in real
terms in the third quarter compared with the same period
last year.
This suggests that domestic export performance
will remain strong in the coming months. Second,
reflecting weak investment intentions, retained imports of
capital goods declined again by 13% in real terms in the
