Your minute of 15 July asked for a short list of about a dozen of the backbench MPs we expect to be most active on Hong Kong issues. This I attach.

2.

You said that the Secretary of State had been struck by the fact that only four of the MPs on my previous list of those who had asked PQs in 1982/3 had been marked as frequently displaying interest in Hong Kong. The reason for this is that the list excluded those who are members of the British-Hong Kong Parliamentary Group. Several of the Group do of course take a close interest.
