The FAC has at last been reappointed for the duration of the present Parliament and has already started work. This will, I fear, involve a number of departments over the next few months. I will, of course, be in touch with those concerned with particu exercises as necessary, but you may find some general background useful.

Please bear them in mind when organising official hospitality. the Committee which ended the last Parliament the Chairman attended
FCO events in 1982 and 1983, the remaining 10 members averaged 1 invitation each and several were virtually unknown here. Parliamentary Unit can advise on their particular interests if necessary.
3. Meetings. They will meet regularly on Wednesdays from 9.30 to 11.25 am and 4.15 to 6.30 pm. FCO oral evidence sessions will usually be in the afternoon slot to avoid problems on those days when the FCO is Top for Questions.
