I CM!!

CHILL

Thank you so much for your letter of the 26th October and for taking the trouble to send me the new series of leaflets on defence and disarmament issues which have just been published.

I have already read them and found them most interesting.

I had an initial word with my counterpart secretary of the Defence Committee, Edward Lee, and we both feel it would be a good idea to publish a pamphlet early next year on specific aspects of the fence and disarmament position.

As this progresses, I will let you have a copy. In the meantime, may I just say how excellent your reply was to the adjournment debate the other evening. Given the sensitivity in the House on Foreign Affairs issues in general, it was good to have such a sound as well as politically sensitive speech in front of a well attended adjournment debate.

Kind regards.

Yours sincerely

CL
