FUTURE OF HONG KONG: VISIT BY VICE FOREIGN MINISTER OF FRG

1. Mr Munro, WED, rang me to say that the Vice Foreign Minister of the FRG would be holding talks with Lady Young and Mr Rifkind on 12-13 September. The Minister has apparently expressed an interest in being briefed on Hong Kong. Mr Munro will be commissioning briefing material nearer the time, but thought we would like to have advance warning of this.
