Certain Heads of Department

THE PRIME MINISTER'S ATTENDANCE AT CHOGM

1. Planning Staff has been asked to coordinate daily round-ups for the Prime Minister during her attendance at CHOGM, The Prime Minister wants these to cover major international questions and preoccupations of the previous 24 hrs.

2.

I should be grateful if Departments would let us have succinct contributions to the round-ups (which should obviously avoid repeating information in telegrams already copied to the Prime Minister's party) by 15.00 hours each day, from Monday 21-Monday 28 November.

3. This is a real deadline. Planning Staff are required to incorporate the contributions in one telegram for submission to Private Office by close-of-play each day. It must then be despatched to the Prime Minister's Private Secretary by 0200Z. It will only be possible to keep to this schedule if departmental contributions reach us by the 15,00 deadline. They should be delivered to Mrs Blake-Pauley in Room K113 in Planning Staff. Nil returns are required and should be phoned to

Mrs Blake-Pauley (233 3307) or to Mr Colquhoun (233 7888), again by 15.00.

4.

The round-up for Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November will be compiled by the Resident Clerk.
