Para 7 of Ottawa telno 601 suggests that Mr Trudeau may ask the

Prime Minister if there is anything she feels able to add to her

I attach a draft Private Secretary letter to Number 10.

(a) to explain that we have recently asked our High Commissioner in

Ottawa to update, at an appropriately senior level, the briefing

which the Prime Minister gave Mr Trudeau on Hong Kong on 26

September;

(b) to suggest points on which the Prime Minister may wish to draw

should Mr Trudeau raise this subject.
