M. Thorn's conversation with DENG Xiaoping

In Peking telno 1149 Sir P. Cradock reported that M. Thorn had promised to provide him with a copy of the relevant part of the record of this conversation, and would arrange for it to be telegraphed after he had returned to Brussels.

The Governor persuaded Thorn to part with a copy of the notes of the meeting prepared by his staff as they stood. In the time available before the bag closes we have not been able to compare them with the account given in Peking telno 1149. We will however be telegraphing later today.
