1. A spark of relief for hard pressed brief writers coping with impossible deadlines.

2. The Cabinet Office has postponed its meeting on 1 November and we have decided that the résumés of briefs do not need the full submission treatment within the FCO before being circulated with the General Brief.

3. The new deadlines to replace those in my minute of 12 October are therefore:
