7. The PUS and Mr James will be travelling to Paris on 10 October for talks with their opposite numbers in preparation for the Summit. I am in touch separately with some Departments about the briefing for this visit.

8. I am also minuting separately to some departments about the agenda and briefing for the Secretary of State's separate talks with M. Cheysson during the Summit.
