The next opportunity for bringing the Americans up to date will be after the next round of discussions on 22/23 September. If the Secretary of State accompanies the Prime Minister to Washington on 28 September this would be an excellent opportunity to put Shultz personally in the picture. Whether or not we have made any more progress in the talks I think this would be worth doing.
