UK Press: The Economist (18-24 December issue) carried an item (presumably by Paul Maidment in HK) on H.K. markets headlined "Holding the line". The article assessed developments in property and deposit taking companies, suggesting that while damage had been limited so far bankers and Government officials were not home and dry yet. Coverage otherwise was light. (The Times has not been printed for six days.)
