April 21 - 27 included a story on rent control with the heading "New rent controls will contribute to inflation"; the paper had a story about CU lecturer, Dr. Joseph Cheng, returning from a recent trip to China and saying officials had told him that China would recover HK sovereignty not later than 1997, but welcomed opinions from HK people; there was a report on the unemployment situation in HK, quoting figures recently released by the Census & Statistics Department; and there was also an item on Urbco celebrating its centenary. The Supplement contained two letters: one complained about the reappearance of vice den signboards in Portland Street, Mongkok; and the other was from the Association for the Promotion of Public Justice saying the Association feared that action would not be taken against the high ranking Prince Philip Dental Hospital officials because it would also imply inefficiency on the part of certain very top Government officials.
