You may wish to see the attached. Thanks to remarks apparently made by No 10's Press Office the column on the talks at No 10 on 5 September is entitled 'Gurkhas come under the Whitehall spotlight'. The story goes on (inaccurately) to describe Mr Heseltine's participation as 'the first time a Defence Minister has been openly involved in discussions on the issue' and later refers to 'talks of a military withdrawal from Hong Kong'. Perhaps we should send a copy of the article to No 10?
