Thank you very much for your letter of 29 August about your visit to China. It was very helpful to learn of your plans.
We shall of course be very ready to provide whatever help we can and I should have been delighted to see you myself. Unfortunately, by the time Lady Llewellyn-Davies arrives back on 20 September I shall be away on a Far Eastern tour which includes Hong Kong. However, Janet Young would be delighted to see you.
I understand that Mr Clift of the Hong Kong Department has already spoken to you about a meeting at 4.30 on 22 September and that you will be coming in to the Office to see him before that, at 4 pm.
