Thank you for your kind letter of 16 July. I was particularly glad to have a chance to meet you and the Unofficials so early in my term of office.

I regard a visit to Hong Kong as perhaps my most important single priority in terms of overseas travel and hope, as you know, to be with you some time around the end of September. We are still working on dates, but I would want to allow 3 full working days to make sure that we can cover the ground properly.
