Ministers attach great importance to their meetings with Sir S Y Chung. At

their meeting this morning the Secretary of State and Sir S Y had a full and

useful review of the situation including, of course, the future of Hong Kong

and Mr Pym assured Sir S Y that the Government remained fully committed to the aim of reaching a settlement over the future of the territory satisfactory to Britain,. China and the people of Hong Kong.
