THE BRITISH NATIONALITY (FALKLAND ISLANDS) ACT 1983
This is of course primarily a matter for the Home Secretary.
Lady Vickers' Bill to give all Falkland Islanders British
citizenship received Royal Assent on 28 March. It confers
British citizenship, and with it the right of abode in the
United Kingdom, on some 400 persons who would not otherwise
acquire it, though the Home Secretary announced in April 1982 that no Falkland Islander would have any difficulty over
admission to the United Kingdom whether he had the right to
abode or not.
