I HAVE THE HONOUR, UNDER INSTRUCTIONS RECEIVED, TO

REQUEST THAT THE APPROPRIATE STEPS BE TAKEN FOR THE

SURRENDER AND EXTRADITION OF LAM WAI-TING.

THE SAID LAM WAI-TING IS ACCUSED OF THE MURDER OF

SAM YAU CHEUK ON BOARD THE LIBERIAN REGISTERED

VESSEL "LAGOS VENTURE" WHILST THE VESSEL WAS ON THE

HIGH SEAS IN THE INDIAN OCEAN.

WE HAVE UNDER SEPARATE COVER DESPATCHED DULT

AUTHENTICATED WARRANT OF ARREST ISSUED BY

MAGISTRATE INNIS DUNBAR AND SIGNED BY THE MINISTER

OF JUSTICE AND A STATEMENT OF EVIDENCE AS REQUIRED

BY THE ANGLO-LIBERIAN EXTRADITION TREATY OF 1894.

IF THE EXTRADITION IS GRANTED, TRANSPORT OF THE SAID

LAM WAI-TING TO LIBERIA CAN TAKE PLACE BY AIR FOR THE

ACCOUNT OF THE LIBERIAN GOVERNMENT.
