Limitations of Statistics

12

The statistics quoted in this report are based on detected cases in which offenders have been arrested. This base, although the best available, is incomplete as it does not include undetected or unreported cases.

Conclusions

13

The involvement of young persons in crime increased from 7.75 per 1000 of young person population to 11.27 in 1981. During the first half of 1982 the rate has decreased slightly.
