to have moved to a new address. the victim, when interviewed by our staff, said that while he would not insist on the execution of the death sentence imposed on the prisoner, he doubted the wisdom of commutation to life imprisonment on the ground that a substantial amount of public funds would be incurred in keeping the prisoner in jail.

Members of the public living in the Western district, including Area Committee and Omers' Corporation members, contacted by CDO staff were of the view that the death sentence was justified in view of the atrocious nature of the crime committed.

As the nearest relative of the prisoner lives in Shatin, no contact with him has been made by HAD staff but SNT has been asked to take this up and let you have a report direct.
