her. In view of the fact that the jury also convicted him of
attempting to murder
where the injuries inflected
were slight and that the only evidence of an intention to kill was
contained in the confession statement of the convict to the police
the inescapable conclusion is that they accepted the confession as
being substantially true.
In my view the jury correctly convicted
before them.

I can see nothing of a mitigating factor in the circumstances of
the offence or in the background of

me which can lead me to recommend that the law should not take its

course. Should your Excellency decide to exercise your prerogative
of mercy I would recommend a period of imprisonment which would ensure
he was not released from prison before the expiry of a period of not
less than fifteen (15) years.
