An Ordinance to make better provision for the administration of justice in relation to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals and for connected purposes.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and con- sent of the Legislative Council thereof.

PART I

PRELIMINARY

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Administration of Short title and Justice (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 1981.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette and the Governor may appoint different days for different provisions, for different purposes or for the same purpose in relation to different cases or classes of cases.

(3) The District Court Ordinance is amended—

(a) in section 50, by deleting "of eight per cent per annum, or at such other rate as may be prescribed," and substituting the following--

"fixed by the Chief Justice by notice published in the Gazette"; and

(b) by adding after section 73 the following-

73A. The amounts mentioned in sections 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 41, 52 and 69 may be amended by resolution of the Legislative Council.".
