I have been asked to reply to your undated letter to the Prime Minister.

135

Your passport, which is endorsed 'Holder is Subject to Control under the Immigration Act 1971' does not, as you maintain, restrict your movements to countries other than the United Kingdom. That endorsement means that should you wish to travel to the United Kingdom you must qualify under the 1971 Immigration Act. Should you wish, however, to visit any other country you will be required to qualify, as would anybody else, under the regulations governing entry to that particular place.

You complain in your letter that you were refused entry into Hong Kong. I feel I should point out that the Government of Hong Kong is responsible for the administration of its immigration policy. If you wish to pursue the question of their refusal to admit you, I suggest you take up the matter with them.

bcc:

Yours bauthfully
