Tony Benn MP concerning Ms Christine Vertucci.

Recommendation

I recommend that the Secretary of State reply on the lines

of the attached draft.

Background and Argument

3. The background to this. case is contained in my submission

of 2 March. The Lord Privy Seal has considered Ms Vertucci's

petition to the Secretary of State and upheld the Hong Kong

Government's decision on his behalf.

4.

There is continued Parliamentary interest in this case

and an Early Day Motion, signed so far by 119 MPs, has been put

down criticising the Hong Kong Government's decision in this

matter. The Leader of the House has been briefed accordingly.
