Dear Sirs:

I have learned of the Hong Kong Immigration Department's refusal to grant Ms. Christine Vertucci an extension of stay in Hong Kong. I whole- heartedly support Christine Vertucci's appeal to have her employment visa extended. I urge you to allow her to continue her work in Hong Kong.

I have known Ms. Vertucci since 1976, and have had the opportunity to observe her dedication and hard work both in the United States and in Hong Kong. I subscribe to the Asia Monitor, which Ms. Vertucci helps to put out, and fear that it will suffer in quality without her. Many of us in the United States have come to depend on this journal for up-to-date factual information on Asis.

I know that the people of the colony would also suffer if her social service work were to be ended.

Again, I urge you to extend her employment visa.

Sincerely,

いしい

Ann Juergens,
