Sir Murray Maclehose

Govenor

Government House

Hong Kong

Dear Sir:

We have learned of the Hong Kong Immigration-Department's refusal to grant Christine Vertucci an extension of stay in Hong Kong.

We know that she has been working as a co-director of the Asia Monitor Resource Center. She devoted herself to promoting better working condition for the Hong Kong labor force, as well as to supporting human rights issues in the South East Asia. We believe that if she is to leave Hong Kong, it will be a great loss for those people she has been working for.

We urge you to allow her to continue her work in Hong Kong.

On behalf of the Association of Helping Asian Friend, we support Christine Vertucci's appeal to have her employment visa extended.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Masista Todori f.

Makoto Todoriki (Chief Secretary of A. H. A. F. )
