The Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Gibraltar is in fact the Commander-in-Chief of all British forces stationed in Gibraltar, and is therefore responsible to the Minister of Defence as well as to the Secretary of State.
For other Governors listed above, the additional "and Commander-in-Chief" is a courtesy title, and is not descriptive of the Governor's function in relation to British forces in the DT, if any.
Anguilla is formally a part of the Associated State of St Kitts-Nevis Anguilla but has a separate Constitution and Ministerial form of government under HM Commissioner as provided for in the Anguilla (Constitution) Order 1976 (SI 1976 No 50), and, as such, is subject to the provisions of Colonial Regulations.
