Re:

Letter of objection to Immigration Department's denial of an employment visa extension of stay for Ms. Christine Vertucci
Dear Sir Philip Haddon-Cave:
1.
I am Christine Vertucci, an American citizen who is holding
U.S. Passport No. H2424992. I have been employed with the Asia
Monitor Resource Center, a registered business in Hong Kong (see
Appendix A and Appendix B for a brief description of the Asia
Monitor Resource Center) since January 23, 1978. I am a lawyer by
training, and I am a member of the State Bar of California, U.S.A.
2.
On December 18, 1981, I applied for an extension of stay
for employment. On January 22, 1982, the day before my employment
visa was to expire, I was informed by the Hong Kong Immigration
Department that my application for extension of stay had been
refused, and that I must leave Hong Kong by February 5, 1982. No
reasons were given for this decision. Therefore, under Section
53 of the Immigration Ordinance, 1980, I am raising objections to
this decision for the following reasons.
3.
In 1977, I received a letter of invitation for employment
with the Asia Monitor Resource Center (hereinafter referred to as
the Center) from Mr. Thomas P. Fenton and Ms. Mary J. Heffron,
the former partners of the Center. On October 5, 1977, I applied
for an employment visa and my sponsors stipulated on my applica-
