Dear Fatnik

Illegal Immigrant Mothers and Children from China

We have just received word from Hong Kong that this subject was not raised by the Lord Privy Seal or by any of the officials accompanying him. it may be of interest to your office to have updated information on it.

However,

The position now is that 23 cases have been removed to China of whom 19 were removed after the birth of the child and four before confinement. All the 19 left their child in the care of their husband or his family in Hong Kong.

? appeal.

Of the remaining against whom removal orders

have been served, one has been dismissed, but the woman has not yet been repatriated and 8 are awaiting processing.

There is very little Press interest in the subject.

Warm wishes for a happy Year of the Dog to you

and yours and, of course, our colleagues in HKGD.
