1.

Lord Geddes has told me that he is going to Hong Kong on 1 March for a little while and that during his stay he will be the guest at a dinner on 17 March offered by UMELCO.

2. He will probably have to say a few words at that dinner and he anticipates that the subject of the Nationality Bill will come up, particularly in view of the part he played in getting amendments put before the House of Lords.

3.

He asked if there was any background briefing which we wished to give to him. He did not want to get his remarks out of balance. I said that we would think about it and perhaps offer him a few points which he might include in his remarks or otherwise have available for use in conversation as necessary.

Could you let me have two or three 'talking points' which I will incorporate in a brief letter to Lord Geddes?
