Dr Edmund Marshall has put the attached question down

for written answer. I attach a draft reply, based on information

provided by Hong Kong.

122.

Dr Marshall asks this question regularly, most recently

on 30 June, when there were 11,253 refugees in Hong Kong.

The rise in numbers is due to the increase in arrivals of

refugees during the summer, and the decline in resettlement

opportunities.
