Sir Patrick Wall (Haltemprice): To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Common- wealth Affairs, if he will make a statement about the future of the boat people rescued by SSCity of Edinburgh' and SS 'Po Yong'.

8 of the 34 boat people rescued by the 'City of Edinburgh'

have been resettled in the USA. The remainder are expected

in due course to be received in the United Kingdom. 18 of

the 42 boat people rescued by the Po Yang have been

resettled in the USA, Canada and Australia.
