The details you have sent us refer to a total of 138 refugees in Hong Kong who are related to refugees already in the UK. We would count ourselves lucky in our present circumstances if as many as 200 could be found to qualify for departure and who would agree to go to the UK.

If the FCO need any more information we will be only too happy to produce it. Perhaps Patrick will wish to get in touch with you initially to get some feel for the way the Home Office made this suggestion. In any event I will look forward to hearing from him on this subject in due course.
