Vietnamese Refugees - Motivation during January-April 1982
As part of the ongoing Special Branch motivation survey, 227 Vietnamese refugees were interviewed between 1st January 1982 and 30th April 1982. No significant deviation from motivation pattern established during the last year has come to light. Survey results are as follows:-

Included in this motivation survey were representatives of a group of 22 refugees who made their way from Ho Chi Minh City to Quang Ninh Province, Northern Vietnam where they arranged their departure. This group also described the difficulties, previously reported by Special Branch, of arranging clandestine departures in Southern Vietnam.

Special Branch will continue to monitor Vietnamese rofugee motivation factors, to be reported at two monthly intervals.
