1. Thank you for your teleletter of 12 March, repeating Hong Kong's teleletter of 11 March to FCO about Vietnamese refugees.

2. We were struck by the idea in paragraph 6 about a camp in China, which at first sight seems unlikely to be a starter. However, since we have not seen the papers referred Hkk 243/2 to in that paragraph (the Chief Secretary's letter of

1981-2 December to Alan Donald, and UKMIS Geneva Tel No 71), we

are not sure exactly what is being proposed.

Could you please arrange for copies of these papers to be sent to us?
