AIRSPACE REQUIREMENTS FOR MILITARY HELICOPTER
OPERATIONS OUT OF SEK KONG
1.
The positioning of an airport in the Deep Bay area could limit helicopter operations out of Sek Kong. In order to minimise this effect some form of airspace sharing will be required. The attached map is an attempt to meet the military helicopter requirements. It is based on the worst case situation with regard to the possible positioning and orientation of the new airport's runways.
ASSUMPTIONS
2. It is assumed that the total number of Scouts/Wessex will remain the same (17) and that their tasks will remain as at present.
3. IFF transponder equipment to be fitted to all helicopters and all the appropriate airport's radars are to be capable of interrogating such equipment.
4. Fixed wing flying to be restricted or prohibited out of Sek Kong.
5.
Extensive re-development of Sek Kong air traffic control tower and close inte- gration of civil/military Zone and Sector traffic control.
DIVISION OF AIRSPACE
6.
The attached map is a suggested method of dividing the airspace around the new airport.
