I spoke subsequently to Mr Lippitt of GEC and

Mr Cross Brown of Lazards making it clear that

Mr Brenridge did not wish to be hustled. However, I said that I felt that some of the arguments he had used could be turned to our advantage if the financial package envisaged by Lazards was really attractive and that if they had a means of approaching him informally this would be worth doing.

Incidentally, I have now learnt from Mr Ross of the EGOI that the EGCI have agreed that the Taylor Woodrow group should be regarded as the British group. He will confirm this in writing in due course. It is apparently a slightly complicated settlement that they have arrived at.
