The Prime Minister has proposed a discussion

of the Hong Kong question in early May, when both

Murray MacLehose and Teddy Youde are in London.

12 May has provisionally been earmarked.

2. No 10 have agreed that it would be very useful

if you could attend. Although we shall have the

benefit of your advice during your UK leave later

in the summer, the May meeting may be of particular

importance in the process of decision. Is there any
