1. Thank you for your letter of 25 February about the visit of Zhang Yanning, Secretary-General of CEMA. We had heard of CEMA before, but that was about the extent of our knowledge of it.
2. I have spoken to the Australian Embassy and they confirm that Zhang has been visiting Australia under the auspices of the Australia-China Council as part of their cultural exchange programme. They gave me some literature on CEMA and Zhang himself, which I enclose with this letter and with Rod Wye's copy. CEMA describes itself as "an organisation for

exchanging, popularizing and studying the theory and practice of management, and an advisory body to economic departments" is keen to promote "international interflow" (!)

As you will see, first on the list of CEMA functions is the publication of periodicals. I am trying to get a list of these publications, and with luck I should be able to send you a sample before loug.
