Further to my memo (154) in this series dated 142-82, attach a list of groups from China who have visited Hong Kong during the period 1 January 1982 to 30 June 1982.

This list shows that during the period of 25 weeks, 621 groups visited Hong Kong with a total of 2,740 persons. Out of this number, 22 were cultural groups consisting of a total of 246 persons. The average period of visit for each group was 19.5 days. The present pattern is, therefore, in any month, about 103.5 new groups from China errived in Hong Kong with a total of 456.7 persons.

I also attach a list of Chinese officials granted employment visus during the period 1 January 1982 to 30 June 1982. The list shows that during the period a total of 711 persons have been so admitted, making an average of 118.5 persons per month.
