Groups from China

Further to my memo (140) in this series dated 16-7-81, I attach

a list of groups from China who have visited Hong Kong during the period 1 July 1981 to 31 December 1981.

The average

This list shows that during the period of 26 weeks, 721 groups visited Hong Kong with a total of 3379 persons. Out of this number, 30 were cultural groups consisting of a total of 377 persons. period of visit for each group was 25.5 days. The present pattern is, therefore, in any month, about 120.2 new groups from China arrived in Hong Kong with a total of 563.2 persons.

I also attach a list of Chinese officials granted employment visas during the period 1 July to 31 December 1981. The list shows that during the period a total of 565 persons have been so admitted, making an average of 94.2 persons per month.
